Mold In Toilet

While any mold can make a person start to panic, the good news is that mold in or around your toilet bowl is very common and easy to get rid of. If you spot something in your toilet bowl or toilet tank that you think is off, likely your suspicions are correct. With mold, the signs are pretty straight forward. If you notice a black “ring” in your toilet tank or orange, pinkish slimy mold where the top of the water sits in the bowl, your latrine probably has mold. Additionally, if you or someone in your household has uncontrolled diabetes, there is a higher chance you will see mold more frequently in your toilet. 

As many people can deduce, mold needs only a damp, moist environment to begin growing and a bathroom, especially a toilet, provides just that. An interesting fact about toilet mold is that it is possible to have mold in your toilet bowl without having any mold in your toilet tank. If you see that mold is growing specifically in your toilet tank, then it is likely that you do not use that toilet as often as others, allowing all the warm, unflushed water to create the perfect breeding ground for mold to grow.
